Digital Scrapbooking Question about ..?

I would like to start making my own digital scrapbook materials, such as ornaments, paper, numbers, and all that fun stuff. Does anyone know how to begin? Or where I can go see a tutorial or even buy a program that will show me how to get the different textures and stuff? And I do not mean how created a page, I mean doing everything myself. Like a fresh start.
