I'm doing a research degree in new media / digital photography and need help deciding on the issue of research?

Main area of interest is how they can explore, with new media / digital photography, and universal human interconnectedness. This idea is very great at this time and need help in the selection down to a specific line of research …… Any advice would be appreciated.
